Rules and policies are in place to make sure your child remains safe and well at school.
Visit the NSW Department of Education’s policy library for all current operational policies.
Our school uses the department's School Community Charter to ensure all of our communication is collaborative and respectful.
We have developed a communications policy to promote open communication, fairness and positive relationships where all members are respected and valued.
Attendance and absences
Students must attend school regularly so they can achieve their educational best and increase their career and life options.
In NSW, all children from the age of 6 are legally required to attend school or be registered for home schooling through the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). All students must complete Year 10, or its equivalent and remain in school, employment or training until they turn 17.

If your child has to be absent from school for any reason, including arriving late or leaving early, please submit an Absence via School Bytes parent portal or send the school an email. We will send you a reminder text on the day of the absence to submit an absence reason if one has not been explained. Please explain the reason by one of the methods detailed above or by written note as soon as possible and within seven days.
If your child will be absent for 5 school days or more, you will need to complete an Application for Extended Leave form at least a week prior to the absence. These forms are available from the school office or on the school bytes portal under documents. You can complete the form and email it to the school.
Behaviour
CPS implements the expectations for NSW Department' Behaviour Code for Students. This ensures every student is engaged and learns to their fullest capability and ensures all students, teachers and staff are safe in school.
School frameworks (school rules)
As well as following the department’s operational policies, we have developed frameworks for our students in line with our school’s values and commitments.
